Move your body in a way that is more than just modifying your usual routine –

Pregnancy and post-partum is a unique time in your life and your movement practice should reflect and support your body through this process. These workshops are a safe space to move your body in ways that can help your pregnant and birthing body achieve balanced strength and mobility. This may not only minimize aches, pains, and dysfunction, but also supports a more efficient birthing process. When the body is supported through optimal movement for the task of pregnancy and birth, the body is primed for an easier and smoother transition into postpartum and recovery.

Have a place to ask questions and dig deeper into the physical changes and processes of pregnancy and birth. Create a community of support for your postpartum period and beyond.

Body Ready Method is an approach to using whole-body, functional tools that may help with:

  • Body balancing to help baby find their best position
  • Prenatal aches and pains
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Core support to minimize issues with abdominal separation and diastasis recti
  • A more efficient birth by optimizing the body during pregnancy
  • A smoother postpartum recovery

Taught by Kelly Haley.

This series is rooted in Kelly’s training and work with the BODY READY METHOD® and influenced by her 20+ years in the movement industry and 10 years working with pre and post natal populations. As a BRM Pro, Kelly works with pregnant people who want to optimize the balance, strength and resiliency of their pregnant body.

You will learn and practice five pillars of movement

  1. Alignment/movement patterns
  2. Upper body mobility
  3. Core
  4. Pelvic floor
  5. Pelvis

Each class is structured around a 60 minute movement flow and a 30-minute educational component to help you learn and practice the pillars in depth. You will be given movement homework to continue developing your practice at home.

The 60min/30min split will not be a hard rule – the total 90 minutes will be used to achieve a fulfilling movement practice, tools for students to take home and incorporate into their everyday lives and plenty of time to answer questions that arise during class. Extra time is available after class for socializing.

Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. Bring a water bottle. 

Yoga mats are provided if you don’t have one.

Week One – Alignment and Movement Patterns
  • Learn how to align the body for success while standing, sitting, and sleeping.
  • Explore tools and strategies to help modify movements when doing fitness and exercise classes.
  • Release the Psoas!
Week Two – Upper Body Mobility
  • Breathing, breathing, breathing!
  • Why upper body mobility is so important for baby positioning
  • Develop strength to hold the baby for long stretches.
Week Three – Pelvic floor
  • Why Kegels aren’t the answer…
  • Guide to releasing the pelvic floor.
Week Four – Core
  • Your core can get stronger in pregnancy!
  • Diastasis Recti – its a buzz word and there is a lot of fear around it. Diastasis is something that naturally happens in pregnancy and supporting this natural separation can help with recovery.
Week Five – Pelvis
  • Extrinsic vs intrinsic movement of the pelvis – pelvis moving as a whole and pelvis changing shape as the joints within the pelvis move
Week Six – Birth
  • Stages of labor and what movements can help in each stage of labor.
Week Seven – Postpartum
  • Learn 7 daily movements that support the newly postpartum body and support the movements you do as a new mom – like sitting in a chair nursing a baby…ALL DAY LONG
  • Postpartum support plan
  • Early infancy positioning – baby wearing, baby containers.
